With an increase in phones that come with some pretty decent cameras, it's no surprise that people are using their point-and-shoot's less frequently.In 2011, about 27% of photos were taken with phone cameras, compared to 17% in 2010.
Consequently, 44% of photos were taken with "single purpose" cameras, compared to 52% in 2010.
There are several iPhone lenses, like the one we included in our annual gift guide, which increase the capabilities of cell phone cameras. This gives consumers more incentive to invest in such an accessory instead of a point and shoot camera, which only serves a single purpose.
