Could Your Next Cell Phone Be Bendable?

What can we expect from the next generation of mobile devices? Bending screens perhaps!

Two weeks ago, Nokia demonstrated it's prototype of a flexible phone which they call a "kinetic device."

Samsung has also discussed the debut of a similar technology which is expected in 2012.

With the adaption of such technologies, the possibilities could be endless. Phones could become extremely thin and virtually unbreakable; they could be rolled up or folded.

We look forward to seeing what new technologies will become available in 2012.

Below is a demo of Nokia's bendable phone:

  1. Neat Idea, I think more durable is much better !I have always worried about breaking my phone because I have a habit of sticking it down in my back pocket

  2. Wow. That is such a strange idea, though it makes sense for durability. I like this better than the glass looking ideas I have seen. I don't know how solid the graphics can be on a clear device.

It seems that either flexible or clear glass like devices may be the coming designs. I am curious which will take off and be the most funcitonal.
