As you may recall from our October 2009 newsletter, IBM has been developing a question answering system which will soon be a contestant on Jeopardy.
It's been well over a year since IBM first unveiled Watson and they have made great progress since then.

Cops & iPhones
The law enforcement in Brockton, Mass. is taking iPhone apps to a new level. They have used grant money to develop a facial recognition app which help identify criminals within moments.
We wonder how well this app will be utilized and if other law enforcement agencies will adopt this form of facial recognition.
